Abstract

The current study examines the nature of the relationship between social capital and political stability. It attempts to deconstruct the determinants of the concept of social capital in terms of its essence, sources and components and the concept of political stability in terms of its essence, indicators, and factors of realization. The objective is to determine the impact of social capital on the state and society. The study reached several results, the most important of which is that the use of social capital in its positive form (positive forms of social interaction) enhances political stability. In contrast, negative social capital (negative exploitation of social capital) undermines political stability. The trust between citizens and the government is a fundamental and central element of social capital that enhances the state's political stability. This study comes within the framework of linking the level of micro-analysis (society), macro-analysis (state), and the relationship between society and the state.
