• The  International Journal of Public Policies in Egypt is an Egyptian scholarly journal issued by the Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC).

This has been accompanied by a regional and international recognition of its essential role as a think tank, which was evident in the results of the “Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) at the University of Pennsylvania, USA,” announced in February 2021; and the Information and Decision Support Center was chosen to be:
• One of the best 20 think tanks worldwide in response to the “Covid-19” pandemic of 2020 (there is no specific order for the list).
• Ranked 21 out of 64 think tanks in the world as having the best idea or a new model it developed during the year 2020, considering that no other Egyptian think tank was ranked according to this criterion.
• Ranked 14 out of 101 think tanks at the level of Africa and the Middle East for the year 2020.

• The Journal has an ISSN number which guarantees accurate and immediate identification of the journal. It also enables swift and effective communication between stakeholders of the journal.
• The journal accepts research papers in English providing the research title, introduction, and abstract in Arabic), and Arabic (providing the research title, introduction, and abstract in English).

• All authors must comply with the rules of scientific publishing as outlined in the Author’s Guide provided by the Journal. This includes adherence to formatting guidelines, ethical standards, and submission procedures.
• Authors are expected to ensure the originality of their work and uphold scientific integrity in their research.

2. Commitment to Scientific Integrity and Plagiarism

• The Journal adheres to rigorous anti-plagiarism protocols. All submissions will be screened for plagiarism using specialized software, and the acceptable plagiarism percentage will be in line with international standards.
• Authors must ensure that their manuscripts do not contain plagiarized content and should properly cite all sources, including data, ideas, and direct quotations.

3. Commitment to Transparency During the Publishing Process

• Authors are expected to respond promptly to any inquiries from the editorial board or reviewers during the publishing process. Open communication is crucial to maintaining the integrity and smooth progress of the publication process.
• Authors should update the editorial board with any changes or additional information that might affect the manuscript.

4. Commitment to Review Process Modifications

• Authors are required to commit to making modifications or revisions to their manuscript as requested by the peer review committee.

5. Abstaining from Fundamental Modifications After Acceptance

• After a manuscript has been accepted for publication, authors must refrain from making any fundamental changes to the research unless they are minor corrections or updates suggested by the review process.

6. Commitment to Exclusive Publication

• Authors must not submit the same research to multiple journals simultaneously, nor should they publish the research in more than one journal accredited by the Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt.

• All published issues of the Journal will be made publicly available on the Egyptian Knowledge Bank website, ensuring open access to the research.

9. Tracking the Status of Submissions

• Authors have the ability to track the status of their submissions through the Journal's website, where they can monitor the progress of their manuscript (under review, in the publishing stage, or published).

10. Ethics and Rules for Authors

1. Editorial Independence

• The editorial board operates independently from external influences, including sponsors and advertisers, ensuring that the Journal's academic integrity is maintained at all times.

 

2. Peer Review

•  Manuscripts are subjected to a transparent and fair peer review process, with reviewers selected based on their expertise and impartiality. Authors are informed of the review process and outcomes, including any requested revisions.

 

3. Conflict of Interest

•  Authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect the publication process. Any potential conflicts of interest will be managed to ensure fairness and transparency.

 

4. Corrections and Retractions

•  In cases of errors or issues identified post-publication, corrections or retractions will be declared in a transparent manner. Any retracted articles will be clearly marked on the Journal's website with an explanation.

Plagiarism:

• The journal has a strict policy against plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using professional plagiarism-checking software. Submitted manuscripts with an unacceptable similarity index resulting from plagiarism are rejected immediately.
• Among the recent enhancements made to the journal is the implementation of an AI detection system to examine submitted research papers, ensuring the originality and quality of the research content and safeguarding academic integrity. The Generative Artificial Intelligence Policy of the journal is as follows:

          1. Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of research.

          2. Authors must explicitly declare any use of generative AI, specifying its scope such as drafting assistance, data analysis, or language editing.

         3. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all submitted work, regardless of the use of AI.

         4. Manuscripts that rely entirely on generative AI without meaningful intellectual and scholarly input from the authors will not be accepted.

 

Copyright policy:

The journal allows the author(s) to hold the copyright, and retain publishing rights without any restrictions.
