The study also aims to analyze the relationship between sustainable development in its three economic, social and environmental dimensions, and corporate social responsibility. A field study was conducted, and a questionnaire was designed and distributed to a sample of 80 Egyptian companies. The study also conducted a SWOT analysis to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges associated with the role of social responsibility in achieving sustainable development. The study revealed a positive and significant relationship between social responsibility in its three dimensions and sustainable development. As a result, the study proposes a set of mechanisms that were identified in light of the lessons learned from international experiences. Most important among these mechanisms is unifying the efforts of the various parties concerned with social responsibility through an institutional entity, with the aim of maximizing the benefits of these efforts.
