Traffic accidents have become a repeated daily scene and have economic losses, so the research seeks to calculate the cost of economic losses resulting from these incidents during the period (2012-2021) in Egypt. To achieve this, the research adopted the descriptive approach to display data and statistics, and the analytical approach to calculate the economic losses. The research is divided into three parts: The first displays traffic accidents' elements, types, and causes"; the second explains the causes of traffic accidents, their development, and results; and the third deals with the economic cost of traffic accidents. The research concludes with recommendations for proposed policies. The research concludes that the human element is mainly the cause of traffic accidents in Egypt and there is a continuous increase in the economic losses resulting from traffic accidents in Egypt during the period of the study. Yet, its percentage vs. gross domestic product decreased during the study period. This is attributable to GDP increase at a rate greater than the rate of increase in the economic cost of traffic accidents.
