Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of digital culture in ensuring social sustainability; Where digital culture is the driving force of the digital transformation process and the main factor to ensure social sustainability, the spread of the global epidemic, Covid-19, has led to the emergence of a digital divide that leads to the disruption of societies in light of the management of this crisis, and the impact of individuals’ digital capabilities and skills for interaction has become clear. with the course of events. The term digital divide is the result of the information and communication technology revolution; Where differences emerged between and within countries in the possession of knowledge and the ability to use this technology.
Accordingly, societies and countries in our contemporary world are divided into: advanced, information-rich and backward societies, and the same society has also become informationally divided on social and economic bases. The study concluded that the penetration of digital technologies into human life led to the formation of the phenomenon of “digital culture.”, to the extent that the study of digital culture can cover all aspects of daily life.
